Nail Of The Day - Mermaid Manicure

Hiya Guys! These are my nails today! I used Essie's Feed Me as a base coat, one coat of LVX Cerulean, on my ring finger as an accent nail, I used Sweet Dreams from the Selena Gomez Collection by Nicole By OPI. I topped all my nails off with Orly's Sec N' Dry. I love how this turned out and feel like its my "mermaid" manicure!

The Air Curler....Does it really work?

Hiya Everyone!
Well here to tell everyone about this weird gadget called the air curler. I was skeptical at first at if it would work or not. I have very thick hair and it is VERY hard to curl...lets just say my hope were not high for this product.

As the directions with the air curler say, small sections of damp hair into the hair vortex aka the hair bucket. Your supposed to use the hair dryer to dry your hair for 10-15 seconds and then press the cool button on your hair dryer..NO! If you do that your hair doesn't get dry, use the air curler until your hair dries and then use the cool button. Also prior to using the air curler I would recommend spraying some detangler into your hair so that when you are finished you don't have a tangle mess when you brush it out.

Contrary to popular belief the air curler does actually work and doesn't make your hair a rats nest! I have long thick hair and it curled my hair into lose curls which I brushed out into waves, I love it! If you had shorter hair the air curler would give you Shirley temple like waves! I used this on someone with thinner hair as well and I must say it works best on thicker hair but if you sprayed a little hairspray after each curl it would give the same result.

The air curler could easily become one of my new favorite hair tools. Usually it takes over an hour to curl all of my hair, with the air curler it took about 15 minutes! Overall great product/hair tool! Highly recommend!

May Favorites and my Go To Neutral Eye Look

Hiya Everyone! Here today to show and tell all of you about my May Favorites! I have quite a few favorites this month, been trying some new things and rediscovering some old ones! Lets jump right in!

My First Favorite of the Month is my "Wet Brush"! I love this thing. This brush is made to brush your hair wet or dry and it helps get tangles our of your hair without damaging your hair! This is my 4th Wet Brush, I have one in my travel bag, one in my bathroom, one in my bedroom, and I have a small sized one in my shower. You can buy them on amazon, at Sally's, and on the Official Wet Brush website. If you buy them through Wet Brush they do have a warranty on them. I love mine and its the ONLY brush I will use on my hair!

Next is my Mini Benefit Watts Up Highlighter. I bought a benefit kit and it came with this small Watts Up and let me tell you, as soon as this runs out...I'm buying the full size! This little thing is amazing, it goes on so smoothly and blends well. I put this on my brow bone as a highlight everyday and I LOVE it!

I have been loving my sunglasses from Giant Vintage. I ordered a few pairs and these are by far my favorites, I wear them almost everyday. These are called the Northstar Blue Sunglasses on their site. They have tinted lenses but I think that just adds to the uniqueness of the sunglasses. Its getting to be summer, sunglasses are a must to protect your eyes. If your looking for some good quality sunglasses cheap...look no further, click the link below to go to Giant Vintage!

Next is my Basq Cucumber Tea Eye Gel! As I said before, its getting to be summer, its getting hot, you need to cool off. This helps. This reduces the puffiness in your eyes and reduces swelling and BONUS its anti-aging too! I use this before I go to bed, not only does it do all of those things but its also cooling and soothing on your eyes, and in the summer we all need some cooling. They don't test on animals and it has a ZERO skin allergy and irritants in it, its safe for everyone!

I have been wearing my Barry M Natural Bronzing Matt Powder in 204 a lot lately. Its just the perfect bronzer, not shimmery, just bronze, kind of like a milk chocolate color. Sadly this isn't available in the USA unless you order online, I got mine from a friend last year and have just rediscovered it this month!

I have been using my Charity Pot Lotion from LUSH lately a lot and I love it. It just makes my skin so smooth and soft! If you haven't tried it you really should! You can get it at LUSH or you can get it HERE

Ok I have 3 Lip Favorites, two go together and those are my Senegence Lipsense Lip Colors and Gloss. I have so many colors but this month Roseberry by Senegence has been my favorite topped with a coat of the Senegence Glossy Gloss. I love these, you apply them once and you don't have to reapply ALL day. They are sweat proof, kiss proof, water proof, you can even eat with these on and they DO NOT COME OFF! These don't come off until you wash them off! Cruelty Free and Vegan as well, you just can't go wrong!
If you want to order enter Distributor #167741 for a 20% Discount!

Next is my Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon! I have talked about this before and I keep going back. Its one of Revlon's Limited Edition Lip Butter's for the summer. It has a very light feel on your lips and I love using it for just a wash of color. These are available in drugstores. I purchased mine at Walgreens so if your looking for it I would check there first.

I have some Eye shadow Favorites this month for a change, a palette and a single eye shadow which I put together to make my go-to Neutral eye look!
My favorite palette of the month is my Nude Tude Palette from The Balm! I have been using 4 shadows out of this palette everyday.
Get The Nude Tude Palette HERE

To get my go to Neutral Eye look I use one of my other favorites my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze to sort of prime my eyelid and use it as a base. Next I take Stand-offish from the Nude Tude Palette and apply that all over my lid. Then I use the Seductive Shadow on my crease and use Silly to make a V in the corner of my eye and blend them out. I like my outer V to be a little bit dark so sometimes I take a bit of Sleek just to darken it up and then blend it out a little more. I use the Sassy shadow paired with my benefit Watts Up to Highlight my brow bone and inner tear duct!

I hope everyone enjoyed reading and post below in the comments and tell me about your monthly favorites!

BA STAR Glitter Makeup

Hiya Everyone!
I have a really exciting and fun post your all of you today! BA STAR Glitter, Glitter Glue, and a BA STAR Smokey Eye shadow and Glitter Palette plus a 50% OFF COUPON CODE! Yes I said 50% OFF! Ok lets get into it!
The first thing I am telling all of you about today is the BA STAR Holo Silver Glitter and the BA STAR Glitter Glue. Everything I will be talking about is pictured below.

The glitter glue which is the white tube in the picture, appears white but when applied to the skin it is clear. The glitter glue and glitters can be used on your eyes, lips, face, and body. This glitter glue is not sticky like you would think and dries quickly on the skin.

Pictured above is the Holo Silver BA STAR Glitter. This glitter so so beautiful, a picture doesn't do it justice! I wish BA STAR made Nail Polishes with this glitter, I would buy them ALL! The glitter is smooth and doesn't make your skin feel itchy like some glitters. Its very fine and applies perfectly.

I used the glitter glue to draw a heart on my hand just to test out the application and consistency. I love the application, its so simple. The glitter glue has a doe foot applicator, that makes it easy to apply. I applied the holo glitter with an ELF Concealer Brush. The application is flawless and theres not too much fallout from the glitter coming off of the glitter glue.

Above are the swatches from the BA STAR Pro Makeup Smokey Palette. There are 3 powder shadows and two gel like glitters. The shadows are VERY Pigmented and amazing and the glitters are your normal gel like glitters, still very pretty.

All these items are PERFECT for cheerleading, dance, or even Prom makeup!

You can get all of these items on BASTAR.COM or http://www.bastar.com/
For 50% OFF your Order from BA STAR use the coupon code BBGLITZ

Whats in My Purse: Summer Edition

Hiya Everyone! Here today to show everyone what I carry in my bag in the summer, whats always in there and never leaves! So lets get into it!

Ok so first of all my bag is the Drawstring Stud Stone Crossbody from Rue 21 in the color COGNAC, which is a nude brown color, very neutral. I like the neutral color that's why I use it for my everyday bag, I also bought this bag in Turquoise because I love it so much. They are the perfect summer bag, not too big, not too small (Medium sized), and very lightweight even with all the studs. Also very affordable! The bag is linked below on the Rue 21 site, its amazing! Sadly you cannot order it online but they do have it in most Rue 21 stores.
To Get a Better Look at my Bag Click HERE

Ok Now onto what is in my purse! First thing is my Coconut Cove Pocket Bac from Bath and Body Works, I always have this with me, its my favorite scent they make. Just a staple for me.

Next are my favorite candies, Fruit Sparx! These are Organic, I get them at my local health food store. They taste JUST like Smarties but better for you. I love them! Plus they are Sugar Free!

Then I have my little Vintage Hello Kitty mirror that I picked up in a thift store for 25 cents. I love hello kitty and couldn't pass it up and I just have my Halls Refresh thrown in there for when my throat gets dry.

Next is my Kate Spade Wallet, I'm not sure if they still sell this wallet, or where to find it. I have had it awhile and it just fits all of my cards and money so I keep using it.

I always have my favorite perfume in my purse, my Kat Von D rollerball in Saint. I keep my rollerball in my purse because its small and sometimes you just want to smell extra good. This has a very vanilla scent to it which I love and I keep repurchasing this again and again.

Again I have my Coppertone Tattoo Guard Sunscreen. I always want to keep my tattoos vibrant and unharmed. Sometimes I am in the sun longer than expected and its good to have my tattoo sunscreen in my purse to protect them!

Last are my lippies or lip products, I have 4 in my purse at the moment. My first is my current favorite and that is the Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon. I bought this at Walgreens for 7.49 a couple weeks ago and immediately put it on in the car, I loved it THAT much! This is a limited edition color for the summer and pretty hard to find so if you see it, I suggest you to snatch it up!

Next are my two chapsticks which both have sunscreen for summer. My Ocean Potion Lip Potion which smells like Orange Sherbet and my Alba Botanica Hawaiian Pineapple Lip Quench. I love both of these and HIGHLY recommend them. Most people forget sunscreen for their lips in the summer and let me just say...sunburnt lips are NOT fun!

Last is my Hard Candy Plexigloss in Arm Candy. I have this in my purse because its just a sheer pink color with glitter that looks great over a lot of lipsticks and tints. I have been wearing a lot of lip gloss lately and this happened to be the one I had in my purse.
You can get Hard Candy Plexiglosses HERE and at Walmart.

Thanks for reading and I TAG everyone to do this on your blogs and youtube!

No Heat Beachy Summer Waves aka Lazy Girl Beachy Waves

Hiya Everyone! I've always loved the look of beachy waves, not only in the summer but year round! I hated the heat on my hair and all work I had to put into them! I have discovered the "lazy girl" way for No Heat Beachy Summer Waves aka Lazy Girl Beachy Waves!

Its SUPER Simple! The whole process takes a few minutes! You need 2 things, NYM Beach Babe Sea Salt Texturizing Spray, this is what I use so I recommend it because I know it works but I am aware that there are other sea salt sprays out there but in my opinion this one works best and is the cheapest on the market! This also comes in a texturizing cream and is available at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Ulta, Urban Outfitters, and Online!

You will also need hair clips that clip all of your hair up into a bun  or a loose pony tail. I use the Scrunci No Slip Grip Clips. I have very thick hair and these clip my hair up without any hair ties and they hold it! I got mine at Walmart but I have seen them at Target, Walgreens, and CVS as well.

To get No Heat Beachy Waves all you need to do is thoroughly spray the NYM Beach Babe spray all over your hair, it smells amazing and does what it promises. Next you just take all of your hair and twist it into a top knot, bun, or loose pony tail! You can do this with wet or dry hair. I do mine with dry hair and leave the top knot/bun/pony tail in for 30 minutes to an hour but you could leave it up longer if you would like. If you do this with your hair wet, wait until your hair has dried before you take it down. Once you take your hair down, enjoy your "Lazy Girl" Beachy Summer Waves!

Summer Beauty Essentials

Hiya Everyone! Winter has come and gone, spring has sprung, and summer is just beginning. I thought I would share my Summer Beauty Essentials with all of you and include a few coupon codes as well if your interested in the products! So lets get started!

My #1 Must have Summer Beauty Essential is the NYM or Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray! I have been buying this for 2 years now, it works wonderfully on my hair. When you spray it on your hair it give you the perfect beachy waves without all the effort and it smells amazing too! This is 4.98 at Walmart where I get mine but I have also seen NYM products at Ulta, CVS, and Walgreens! Beach Babe comes in full and travel sizes, pictured above is the travel size.

Next is the ELF Makeup Mist and Set! I spray this on my face before and after I apply my makeup. This helps my makeup stay on all day through everything. I have tried other setting sprays but I always come back to this one. Its a great quality and for only 3.00 you can't beat it! You can find this at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, and Online.

For 20% off sitewide use the coupon code TAF20

I have three go to lip essentials for summer. One of them is my Ocean Potion Moisturizing Lip Potion which I already have a review and info on in the post below this! But, again this chapstick is amazing and leaves my lips so soft! Next is my Alba Pineapple Quench Lip Balm, I have been using this lip balm for a LONG time. It smells so good, like pineapples and Hawaii its just YUM! My lips are so nice after I use it, its not too greasy, not too thick, its perfect! Plus it has SPF!

My last lip product is the City Color Lip Balm in Light Pink. This reminds me of the Revlon Lip butters or the Maybelline Color Whispers but at a fraction of the price! This lip balm leaves the perfect wash of color over my lips, not too much, not too heavy, just a light wash of color. I love it! This lip balm has vitamin E to make your lips super soft as well! Also this lip balm smells like fruit loops and who doesn't like fruit loops?

For 15% off your entire City Color Beauty Online Purchase use the code 13AM1B15 and this code is valid until 7/1/13 and good for one use per person!

Next is my Physician's Formula Organic Wear Mascara, the green tube. I love this mascara, it looks very natural on my lashes, perfect for summer. It separates and lengthens my lashes but not dramatically and it doesn't clump up! I can do 3 or 4 coats on my lashes and not get ANY clumps! It doesn't flake or smudge, its just absolutely perfect especially for a drugstore mascara!

One of my favorite things which is NEW this summer but I have already used several times is the Coppertone Tattoo GUARD Sunscreen Stick. I have several tattoos on my legs, feet, and hands and I was always told to put baby sunscreen on them because it protects more and isn't harsh on my tattoos. I was never good at remembering that but then Coppertone came out with the Tattoo GUARD and having a certain product just for my tattoos is nice. This protects my tattoos, its fantastic. I don't have to worry about my tattoos getting sunburnt and losing color, they're safe and look great! This is available at Walmart, Target, CVS, and Walgreens as far as I know. This comes in the stick form which I have pictured which is great for smaller tattoos or leg and arm tattoos but they also make a lotion form of the tattoo GUARD.
Click HERE to check it out and print out a COUPON!

Another Sunscreen Product that I use for everything that isn't my tattoos is the Ocean Potion SPF 50 Dab-On Stick. Ocean Potion makes great products, I am obsessed with them. I have never been sunburnt while wearing this sunscreen, it doesn't smell horrible like some sunscreens I have tried and its great to just put in your purse and you have it in emergencies. Like the name says its just a dab-on sunscreen stick, no mess, no fuss. Its so easy to use and is also a Matte Finish so great to use under your makeup!
and Click HERE to Print an Ocean Potion Coupon!

Also for After- Sun I recommend Ocean Potion's Instant Burn Relief ICE + Skin Repair!

I have included a brown eyeliner in my Summer Beauty Essentials, eyeliner all depends on your personal preference. I love to wear brown eyeliner in the summer, its not as harsh and looks more natural. I so prefer a waterproof eyeliner in the summer because you do sweat and you don't want your makeup to run plus you never know when your going to go swimming!

My City Color BB Cream has quickly became my summer BB Cream Go To! Again from City Color, I am in the shade light in this BB Cream. Its light coverage as most BB Creams are and it feels like I literally have nothing on my skin. This BB Cream isn't greasy. I have extremely oily skin especially in the summer and this doesn't cake up or melt off of my face or clog my pores.  If your looking for a new BB Cream or trying to find a great BB Cream for Oily Skin I highly recommend this!
For 15% off your entire City Color Beauty Online Purchase use the code 13AM1B15 and this code is valid until 7/1/13 and good for one use per person!

Next is my Yes to Grapefruit Dark Spot Correcting Serum. I have dark spots on my face and in the summer they come out more with sunburns and tanning. This helps them fade quickly. This also works for acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. It easily absorbs into your skin and smells very good! A little goes a long way with this product!

I put a hand sanitizer into my Summer Beauty Essentials because in the summer we all go places and do fun things where there are a lot of other people and germs are everywhere! Its always good to have one in your purse or beach bag. The hand sanitizer pictured is Coconut Cove from Bath and Body Works.

Last but not least is my go to Summer Moisturizer! This is the Clean Scene Begging for Balance Moisturizer from Murad. This is from their teen skin care line. This doesn't make my face oily, it soaks into my skin quickly. This moisturizer is oil free and leaves my skin smooth but not shiny!
Check it out HERE

Thanks for reading! If you have any Must Have Summer Beauty Essentials feel free to leave them in the comments below, I'd love to hear what you all have to say!

Ocean Potion Moisturizing Lip Potion

Hiya! I am telling all of you about the Ocean Potion Moisturizing lip Potion today! This is a lip sunscreen Chapstick with aloe in it and it has a vanilla and orange scent! It smells like a cream-sicle ice cream! It's so soft and moisturizing on my lips. The Lip potion is SPF 45 and it says on the packaging that you can use it on your nose, ears, and lips. I personally only use it on my lips. This is fairly inexpensive at drug stores and I highly recommend it if you will be in the sun and your lips can get sunburned and its no fun to have sunburned lips. This is one of my favorite chapsticks and definitely one of my summer go to chapsticks!

Get Nails like Selena Gomez!

Hiya Everyone!
Today I am going to show you a nail look and a polish dupe! I love Selena Gomez and look to her as a fashion icon and fashion inspiration. As my fashion icon, I don't just notice fashion, I notice nails. Her nails are always flawless and perfect even if they are just one simple color like I am showing everyone today. The photo below shows Selena and an Essie polish in Fun in the Gondola on her nails.

This is a beautiful polish and the color looks stunning on her but Essie polishes can get a bit pricey if you want to buy more than one!(7.99 each) I found a Wet N' Wild dupe for this polish!(1.79 each) The pictures look a little off but when swatched side by side these polishes are nearly identical. The polish is Candy-licious from the Megalast line from Wet N' Wild and it is pictured in the top left corner below.

It is a gorgeous color and perfect for spring and summer! I recommend all of the Wet N' Wild Megalast Polishes, they are amazing.

Also as a side note If you don't already know Selena Gomez has her own nail polish line with Nicole by OPI. All of the polishes are beautiful in her line, I own a few of them myself, they are all pictured in the ad below, Thanks for reading!

ImPRESS Nails Review!!!

Hiya Everyone!
I have a recent new discovery thanks to Grav3yardgirl on Youtube. (I will have her linked below, you should go subscribe and join the Swamp Family!) Well through her videos she introduced me to the ImPRESS Press on Manicure or Press on Nails. I am in LOVE with these. The nails require NO GLUE, everything you need is in the box when you buy them. I buy mine at Walmart and Walgreens and they run anywhere from 5.49-5.99 but you get two uses out of one box. The nails claim to stay on for 1 week if applied properly and they do, I had my last pair on for 8 days before one came loose and I just took them off. They make your nails look so perfect with very little effort. My favorite print in the ImPRESS nails is the print called, Vamp It Up, which is pictured below, its the tie dye print. Impress also has these for your toe nails! I love those as well! I think the toe nail ones last longer than the finger nails in my opinion. With these you can't go wrong!

90s Kid Survey

Hiya Everyone! I'm Backkkkkkkkk and taking a couple semesters off of college to just kick back and gather things, so expect more posts and since I was born and grew up the 90s, I figured I would do the 90s Kid Survey(Tag).

First Question: Favorite Disney Channel Original Movie?

Without a doubt my favorite Disney Channel Original movie is Halloweentown, I still watch all of the Halloweentown movies to this day and I turn 20 in a couple of months. I'm not sure if its because Halloween is my favorite holiday or what but I love these movies.

Favorite Music Artist?

My favorite music artist while I was growing up in the 90s was ATEENS. I'm not sure if anyone remembers them but I think they are still around. I was obsessed. I went and seen them at the Nickelodeon All That Music and More Festival. I must say my favorite song was their remake of Dancing Queen from ABBA.

Favorite Nick Jr. Show?

I really didn't watch Nick Jr. but I do have a favorite Nick show and that was Catdog! I again was obsessed and had a Catdog pencil case and would go around singing the theme song, yeah I was one of those kids...

Favorite Candy?

My favorite candy of the 90s and all time was the Wonderball Candies. At first they had little toys in them and then they switched to candies inside of them because children choked on the toys. Eventually they were banned and discontinued because children choked on the candy as well. Does anyone else miss these? If you do I have some good news! THEY ARE BRINGING THEM BACK!!! As you can tell I am excited.

Favorite Board Game?

This one I don't have one. I never really played board games, I was an only child so I either played outside, or played inside in my room. I never had another kid to play a board game with me so....yeah.

Favorite Mcdonald's Happy Meal Toy?

I didn't even have to think about this one because sadly I still have all of them in a box in my storage room. I loved Furby's, I thought they were cool and cute. I had a furby lunchbox, furby clothes, and in 1998 I was a Furby for Halloween. I was so obsessed with Furby's that I would make my mom call Mcdonalds and ask them if they had the different Furby toys..I ended up with all of them.

Favorite Book?

I didn't have to think much about this one either, I still have the book to give to my children. I remember loving this book because in it the girl draws all over herself with Permanent Never Come off Til Your Dead Markers, and I remember always drawing on my hands and nails.

Favorite Clothing Store?

Couldn't find a picture of this one and I'm not sure if any of these stores are still open but my favorite store to shop at in the 90's was RAVE. I loved their clothes even though I was a kid and the store was aimed at teens, I still shopped there and enjoyed it.

ok last question...
What did you watch when you got home from school?

I remember everyday when I got home from school I would sit and watch 3 tv shows, Between the Lions, Zoom, and Zoboomafoo! I loved all three shows and never missed them, that was pretty much the only tv I watched back then other than the Disney Channel Orignial Movies.

Thanks for reading everybody! I Tag everyone else who was born or grew up in the 90s to do this survey!
